The Mayo Clinic January BNC Documentary This month we join Dr William Worrall Mayo, born May 31, 1819, and his two physician sons on a journey from small-town practice to what has become the world-renowned Mayo Clinic. Many of their early innovations contributed to today's improved lifespan, and it is exciting to realize what fine medical minds were at work without the benefit of today's testing and equipment; yet their approach to diagnosis and medical practice - doctors will always work in cross-specialty teams and always be on salary, in place at the start and firmly in place today - help us appreciate the true meaning of patient-centered care and personalized medicine.
This month’s film will be shown in the Boulder Creek Meeting Room in the main Boulder library (our usual location). Parking is available in the library lot. The first 90 minutes are free; an additional 90 minutes may be purchased for $1.25/hour. If you need to park longer than 3 hours, please park in a public parking garage or do street parking nearby to avoid a ticket. A bus stop is close by at Broadway and Arapahoe.
