North Teller Lake Trail


Our hike will start at 10:00 AM from the North Teller Lake Trailhead.  We will hike south from the North Teller Lake Trailhead past Teller Lake #5 to South Teller and Teller Lake #1. The hike is on a flat dirt road approximately 4.5 miles round trip. The road meanders past farmland utilized for crop production, cattle and horse grazing and bee keeping.

(Note: The start of the hike  has been changed from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM)

Directions:  

From Boulder take Hwy 7 (Arapahoe Road) east, past Valmont Reservoir.  Make a left (north) on N. 75th Street, and turn right (east) on Valmont Road.  The trailhead is on the right.


Parking and Carpooling:

The Parking lot is on the south side of Valmont between 75th and 95th streets, about 2 miles east of 75th street.

No restroom facilities at the trailhead.

Dogs are allowed on the trail south of Valmont. All dogs must be leashed within 100 yards of Teller Lake. 
Dogs are not permitted north of Valmont Road in the White Rocks Nature Preserve.

(Note: Our hike is on the south side of Valmont and many hikers were walking their dogs)

Come Prepared:
Make sure to dress accordingly. It can be very windy and cold at Teller Farm.  Please come prepared with appropriate hiking clothing, gloves, boots/shoes, hiking poles, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks and bring plenty of water. 

Depending on the weather conditions, you may want to bring ice trekkers in case of ice on the trail.

Safety precautions:

Please keep your car doors locked and your car windows rolled up at all times while leaving your vehicle parked at OSMP trailheads. Also consider leaving important valuables at home or take them with you while visiting open space.

For safety purpose it is a requirement that if you wish to turn back you must tell one of the coordinators and have a buddy to accompany you. (never just leave the group).

Please make your own car pool arrangements from the list of registrants. Make sure to dress accordingly, use sunscreen, and bring plenty of water and a snack.
