Heil Valley Ranch Hike
We will be hiking a total of approximately 5 miles of trails at Heil Valley Ranch. The hike includes the Grindstone Quarry trail (1.4 miles), the Lichen Loop (1.3 miles) and the Overland Loop (2.3 miles). The hike proceeds through beautiful valleys, picturesque vistas, and forest meadows. The hike will begin from the Main Trailhead at 9:00 AM.
Dogs are not permitted on any trail within Heil Ranch.

Directions to Trailhead:
Travel U.S. 36 West, and follow this north of Boulder to the junction with Lefthand Canyon Drive just past the Greenbriar Inn. Turn left (west) and follow Lefthand Canyon 0.6 miles to Geer Canyon Road. Turn right and follow Geer 0.3 miles to the Corral Trailhead parking lot. Drive another mile up this road and park at the Main Trailhead.
Parking - is at the Main trailhead and has 56 parking spaces.
There are no formal arrangements for carpooling, but it is always a good option – check the registrant list for potential carpoolers.
Restrooms - Located at the Main Trailhead (the restroom at the Corral Trailhead is still under construction and will open later this year).
Come Prepared:
Make sure to dress accordingly. It may be chilly and sunny. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and wear sunscreen.
At anytime during the hike you may turn back. For safety purpose it is a requirement that if you wish to turn back you must tell one of the coordinators and have a buddy to accompany you. (never just leave the group).
Safety precaution:
Please keep your car doors locked and your car windows rolled up at all times while leaving your vehicle parked at trailheads. Also consider leaving important valuables at home or take them with you while visiting open space.
