The hike for January 24 will start/finish at the South Mesas Trailhead. See directions below. The hike is rated as easy/moderate and is mostly on smooth surface with crushed gravel. We’ll be hiking at total of about 5 miles (2.5 miles out and back). The hike provides great views of open spaces for the first 1.5 miles and then into wooded and heavily wooded areas with up-close views of the Flatirons and Devil’s Thumb. The last .5 miles are on a narrow track.
If there has been recent snow you may consider using snowshoes or spikes.
See photo taken on a hike preview on December 8.
