Welcome to the Boulder Newcomers Club website!

BNC is a volunteer-run, non-profit social organization with nearly 400 members. We are a very active club, with over 30 events per month, ranging from Member Mingles to fun hikes on the beautiful trails around Boulder. We join to make new friends and have fun together while learning about our communities. We are couples, singles, empty nesters, working people, and retirees who are new to Boulder County. Feel free to explore our website! Take a look at our schedule on the monthly calendar; watch our slideshow of members making friends. If you have lived in Boulder County for three years or less, and decide we are a good fit for you, please see our instructions below for how to join the club. We look forward to making friends with you, too.

Sincerely,

Tom Ortwein, BNC President

New Year, New Opportunities to Get Involved!

As we transition into the new year, it’s the perfect time to resolve to be more involved in our community! Volunteering is a fulfilling way to connect with fellow members, learn new skills, and make a positive impact. Here’s why you should consider volunteering:

  • Fun and Connection: Being involved as a volunteer is far more enjoyable than traditional work. It’s a fantastic way to meet other members quickly and form lasting connections.

  • Flexible Opportunities: There are various commitments to suit your schedule—whether you're interested in short-term projects or long-term roles, there’s something for everyone.

  • Skill Development: Whether you want to learn something new or refresh old skills, we provide training to ensure you feel confident in your role.

  • Your Ideas Matter: If you have an activity you’d like to see on the calendar but aren’t sure how to organize it, let us know! Many others share that sentiment, and we’re here to help you bring your ideas to life.

  • Diverse Roles Available: You don’t have to lead an event—there are numerous ways to contribute, so everyone can find their niche.

To make room for even more activities each month, we need additional volunteers. Check out the January calendar for new entries, including exciting activities that have been suggested in our recent survey. Several of these have even expanded from one-off "gadabouts" to regularly scheduled events, and we’re eager to do more!

Ready to jump in? Just drop us a line at bouldernewcomersclub@gmail.com, and we’ll give you a call to discuss how you can get involved. It’s that easy!
